Eibar midfielder Pedro Leon will be absent for at least the next six league games due to discomfort in his left knee.
The concern from Eibar grew after he withdrew from training on Saturday.
The news comes as a blow to both player and club as they had been optimistic that he would return for Jornada 3’s trip to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan after the international break.
However, the injury means that he will not be back soon and despite the fact that the medical team have not set an exact date for his return, it is believed that he will definitely miss the next six games, against Athletic, Sevilla, Leganés, Barcelona, Celta and Villarreal.
Leon has made it clear that he does not want to return to the operating room but his situation is complicated as he has had this pain in his knee since the end of last season and there is no treatment that guarantees the absence of pain.
José Luis Mendilibar knows that the former Getafé and Real Madrid man will be a big loss as last year he was Eibar’s joint top scorer, along with Sergi Enrich, on 10 goals and he also bagged 5 assists but he will have to make do without him for the foreseeable future.
