Barcelona are set to announce a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, according to beIN Sports.
The Catalan club’s interest in Dembele has been prominent since Brazilian attacker Neymar left for Paris Saint Germain.
A move to the Camp Nou for the Frenchman has not been easy though with countless reports of on/off agreements between both clubs.
However, beIN Sports have now reported that after further talks, a move is now expected with Barca prepared to pay an initial up front cost of €120million for his services.
The deal will include a further €30million of add-ons for the 20-year-old which include bonuses such as Champions League honours and international caps for France.
Whilst Dembele has not trained for Dortmund this season yet due a suspension after failing to turn up for training – France boss Didier Deschamps has also axed him from the national side due to fitness.
“Ousmane has not been training for 15 days, he is waiting for a possible transfer, he is struggling with his club,” said the France coach ahead of his country’s World Cup qualifiers.
“I cannot take an inactive player. It is up to the players and their advisers to see what is best for the player. I spoke with him, he hoped it would happen more quickly.
“What’s annoying is that he puts himself on the fringes. If it goes his way, it’ll be less difficult to deal with. If he has to stay in Dortmund, it’ll be less easy with his club and his team-mates.”
Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho remains Barcelona’s biggest priority this summer but a struggle over the transfer fee continues.
