Valencia owner Peter Lim and boss Marcelinho are reportedly at war over the future of former Manchester United winger Nani.
Having had a mixed summer of ins and outs at the Mestalla, club owner Lim has been keen to push out a number of the club’s biggest earners, having made the likes of Ezequiel Garay and Aymen Abdennour available.
And, whilst the latter has left the club this week for Marseille, Garay looks increasingly likely to stay after boss Marcelino convinced the billionaire owner to keep hold of him.
Similar is happening for former United man and Portuguese international Nani, but it is Marcelinho who wants him gone, not Lim.
Nani has been told by the club’s coaching staff that he have limited playing time this season, but his close friendship with Lim is causing problems off the pitch.
The 30-year-old joined Los Che last summer and took a huge wage decrease, thus prompting friend Lim to hold a desire in keeping him at the club.
A report in Plaza Deportiva claims that Marcelino has told Lim that he would not be able to make a move for Lucas Perez of Arsenal if Nani does not leave as balancing the wage bill at Valencia has been the main priority this summer.
