Alaves are set to sign Stoke City forward Bojan Krkic on a season long loan, according to various reports.
Reports in Spanish and English press claim that the former Barcelona forward will complete a season-long loan to the Basque side, despite interest from Las Palmas – who have now turned their attention to Loic Remy, with a deal almost done for the Chelsea striker.
Bojan spent last season away from the Britannia stadium with German side Mainz to gain regular playing time following omission from Mark Hughes’ starting eleven.
Having returned to pre-season training with the Premier League side – the Spaniard had been linked with a number of European clubs, including Real Betis, who had offered him a contract.
Bojan began his career with Barca, before moving out on loan to Roma and then on a permanent deal with AC Milan.
His arrival in England came at the age of 23, seeing him make 60 appearances for Stoke, scoring 15 goals in the process.
Alaves, have started the season with back-to-back defeats, having lost to Leganes 1-0 on the opening day and then Barcelona 2-0 last weekend.
Following their return to action from the international break, they will face Celta Vigo on Sunday 10 September at Balaidos.
