Sevilla are set to complete the loan signing of Galatasaray’s French left back, Lionel Carole.
According to reports in Marca, Carole has completed a medical and will sign for the Andalusian side on a loan deal that will include an option to buy the 26 year old at the end of the season.
Carole began his career in his native France with Nantes before moving to Portuguese giants, Benfica in 2011. He struggled to make an impact in Portugal and returned to France on loan initially with Sedan before making a permanent move to Troyes. After two years with Troyes he made the move to Turkey with Galatasaray and he has remained there ever since.
Carole had been doing quite well for Galatasaray, helping the team win a Turkish Cup and two Turkish Super Cups in his time there but he has lost his place in the team to Norwegian, Martin Linnes and he has been deemed surplus to requirements in Turkey.
Sevilla have been on the lookout for a left sided defender throughout this transfer window and looked close to signing Bologna’s Adam Masina a few days ago but he now appears to be close to a move to Monaco and Sevilla’s attentions have since turned to Carole and it looks as though they will finally get their man in the dying hours of the transfer window.
