Barcelona continued their excellent start to the season with a 3-0 win over Juventus in the Champions League.
Ernesto Valverde’s men have had a superb start to the season domestically, winning three out of three La Liga games but they knew heading into their opening Champions League group game with Juventus that things would be tricky.
And, for large periods of the first half – it proved to be a tough battle between two excellent footballing side.
Gonzalo Higuain had the best chance for the visitors as he seemed free on goal but instead chose to find Paulo Dybala, who shot straight at Barca keeper Marc Andre ter stegen.
Barca themselves would have chances as both Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele came close.
After a fairly even battle, which was dominated heavily by Barca in terms of possession – the deadlock would be broken as Lionel Messi found the back of the net thanks so a slick one-two with Suarez.
The second half began with Barca on the front foot and it would soon be 2-0 as Ivan Rakitic profited from a rebounded Messi effort to stab home.
And two would turn to three as Messi cut past one, then two – before finding the bottom corner of Gianluigi Buffon’s net.
