It is easily one of the biggest fixtures of gameweek 5 as Athletic Club face Aletico Madrid in the San Mames.
The hosts will be looking to bounce back after their shock 1-0 defeat away to Las Palmas over the weekend. Meanwhile, Diego Simeone’ side will be riding on a high after winning their first home game in the new Wanda Stadium.
Kuko Ziganda will once again be without Oscar De Marcos after he picked up an injury in their opening game against Getafe. Los Leones’s head coach used Saturday’s fixture to rest some of his key men, Adruiz, Benat and Munian are all expected to return to the starting lineup for another big game in the Basques season.
Atletico Madrid will be at full strength with only Augusto Fernandez out with injury. Unlike their midweek opponents, Atleti played a strong side against Malaga on Saturday and it will be interesting to see how El Cholo manages his players with a forbounding schedule ahead of them.
It is likely to be a game of defenses with both sides having an excellent defensive record in their previous five games. Athletic club only conceded their first goal last weekend and Los Rojoblancos are international lauded for being tight at the back. Games either end up with very few goals or a half a dozen of them.
