Real Betis comfortably beat Levante 4-0 on Monday evening thanks to a superb double from striker Antonio Sanabria.
Heading into the Monday night Round 6 fixture, hosts Betis had everything to be optimistic about after beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in mid-week and they breezed aside an unbeaten Levante side.
Quique Setien’s side have been playing some remarkable football this season so far and they dominated for large periods of play before Paraguayan forward Antonio Sanabria finished off a superb opening goal.
Countless passes led to the opener, which saw Sergio Leon find his strike partner, who headed in to give his side the lead.
Fabian Ruiz was next to get on the score sheet as he netted his first Betis goal, after a superb run before finishing well.
Riza Durmisi would then turn provider on the opposite flank as he found Leon, who converted to make it 3-0.
With the game filtering out to a victory for the home side and one that would take them above Madrid into fifth place – Sanabria got his reward for a fine display, scoring his second of the game.
The result ended Levante unbeaten run, moving them down to ninth in the table, leaving just Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Valencia as the only unbeaten Spanish sides in the top flight.
Betis now make it four wins out of six, with two defeats and sit on 12 points.
