Both Villarreal and Eibar will be looking to pick up their first 3 points in three matches when they face off at the Estadio de la Ceramica at 5:30 pm.
Both sides suffered 4-0 defeats at the hands of Getafe and Celta de Vigo respectively last weekend with Eibar having conceded 10 goals in their last 2 games alone so will not go into this match full of confidence. That result for Villarreal was also the final straw for manager Fran Escriba who was sacked in the immediate aftermath of that result in Madrid.
Eibar won the two meetings between these sides last season, winning 2-1 at the Ipurua and sneaking through 3-2 away at the Yellow Submarine. Despite those high scorelines, it may not be the same this evening with the two sides having scored just 9 goals between them all season.
Los Armeros currently find themselves in the bottom 3 on just 6 points with Villarreal up in 14th, however they are only 1 point clear of their visitors and could be sucked into trouble early on in the season if they fall to a defeat this evening.
Villarreal remain without Bruno Soriano, Andres Fernandez, Sergio Asenjo and Adrian Marin, as well as Ruben Semedo and Denis Cheryshev.
Eibar will not be able to count on the services of Ivan Alejo, Pedro Leon, Ivan Ramis, Alex Galvez and Yoel Rodriguez with Fran Rico also still out with the news that due to an operation he will miss the next 5 months.
Predicted Starting Line-Ups:
Villarreal (4-4-2): Barbosa; Mario, Alvaro, Ruiz, Costa; Fornals, Rodri, Trigueros, Castillejo, Bacca, Bakambu
Eibar (4-4-2): Dmitrovic; Capa, Oliveira, Arbilla, Junca; Bebe, Garcia, Jordan, Inui; Enrich, Kike
