Fresh details have emerged by Spanish press claiming Barcelona will make a move for Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho in January.
Having held off offers from Barca over the summer, Liverpool also rejected a last minute bid of a reported £115m – keeping him at the club for the time being.
Coutinho has since returned following a back injury to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side and has bounced straight back into form, scoring stunning efforts against Newcastle United, Leicester City and Spartak Moscow.
With Barca remaining keen on the Brazilian – reports have now surfaced once more in Mundo Deportivo, claiming a January bid is being prepared by bosses at Camp Nou.
The Catalan newspaper claims Barca will come back in for Coutinho when the January transfer window opens and that a bid of £70m, plus £32m in add ons will be submitted in late December.
The report goes on to say that Liverpool are likely to reject the offer, holding out for their asking price of £177m.
The former Espanyol midfielder has previously expressed an interest in returning to the Catalan capital to join Barca.
Coutinho, is currently with the Brazil squad preparing for Thursday’s World Cup qualifying match against Bolivia at the Estadio Hernando Siles.
