Levante boss Jose Ramon Lopez Muniz has asked his players to bring back their serious side after the 0-0 draw with Espanyol on Friday evening.
In what was La Liga’s opening fixture of the weekend following the international break – the game proved to be a fairly disappointing one in terms of entertainment.
Both sides had lost before the break and were desperate to return to winning ways on Friday but the game was played out to a scoreless draw.
Leo Baptistao had chances for the home side, but he sent two close range efforts over the top of the crossbar.
Sergi Darder also came close but his effort was off the crossbar, whilst Gerard Moreno had a goal ruled out for a foul, which on replays looked highly questionable.
Adjudged to have pushed in the area, the talented striker stood in disbelief as the referee’s assistant made the decision.
And, Muniz has told his players that his analysis of the performance left him questioning their attitude and commitment.
“We have to go back to our normal way; seriousness, hard work and order,” he told reporters following the game.
The draw leaves Levante travel home knowing they are in 10th place, whilst Quique Sanchez Flores’ side sit one place below them in 11th.
