Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has said he is surprised of Harry Kane’s development into a ‘complete player’.
Zidane was speaking ahead of his side’s Champions League fixture with English side Tottenham Hotspur this week and discussed the rise of Kane, who in top form of late for both club and country.
The 24-year-old has scored an impressive 11 goals in 10 games this season, whilst he has seven in six for England over 2017.
Madrid scouts have been following Kane’s development over the years and Zidane is fully aware of his development, which the French boss admitted to being surprised about.
“I don’t know what will happen in the future, but regarding the present, he is a very important player, key for Tottenham.
“He is good at everything and whatever he does, he always aims for goal. He doesn’t stay still on the field, but always attacks space with speed. He is a complete player, which didn’t seem to be the case early in his career, but in the end this is what he is.”
Further to his comments on the England international, Zidane was quizzed on whether he thought Spanish football was up their with the Premier League and he re-affirmed that he thought La Liga was the best and most competitive league.

“In my opinion, La Liga is best. It will be a very interesting game, a small ‘final’ within the context of the group. We want to play well and show that La Liga is better.”
Tuesday evening’s game at Santiago Bernabeu comes after Madrid beat Getafe 2-1 on Saturday afternoon and their opponents beat Bournemouth in the Premier League.
In Group H of the Champions League, both Madrid and Spurs sit top on six points, having both scored six and conceded just once.
Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has four goals already in the competition, whilst Harry Kane of Spurs has five in two games.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia will face off looking to get their first win of the competition.
