Arsenal have agreed a deal to bring in former Barcelona executive Raul Sanllehi, according to various reports.
Catalan newspaper Sport started the stories which have since been repeated in English media, claiming that the former Barca backroom man will now move to North London and play an important part in Arsenal’s future transfer business.
Sanllehi has reportedly agreed terms over a deal which will see him work closely with Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis.
Following Neymar’s sale to Paris Saint Germain, Sanllehi was one of multiple directors at Barcelona who resigned.
His exit from the La Liga club was also decided after the various issues surrounding the Catalan Independance Referendum and the behind closed doors game with Las Palmas two weeks ago.
Robert Fernandez has taken over from Sanllehi at Barca and is already looking forward to the January transfer window.
Sanllehi is credited with helping towards the deal to bring Neymar to Barcelona back in 2013, and also playing a prominent part in deals for Alexis Sanchez and Luis Suarez to the Camp Nou.
Dick Law resigned from his position as Arsenal’s main transfer negotiator last month following a frustrating summer window, much like of Barcelona, who only managed to bring in Paulinho, Gerard Deulofeu and Nelson Semedo.
