Combative Eibar midfielder Gonzalo Escalante sprained his left ankle in his side’s 2-2 draw with Levante on Sunday afternoon.

The extent of the injury regarding how long he will be out remains to be seen from tests but he will definitely miss next weekend’s Basque derby in the trip to the Anoeta to face Real Sociedad.

Another player who will miss the match in San Sebastian is Dani Garcia who picked up his fifth booking of the season against Levante meaning he will serve a one game suspension.

The game itself saw Eibar recover from two goals down to gain a point.

Levante had taken the lead in the first half through a Jose Morales strike with Enis Bardhi quickly doubling the lead from Morales cutback.

A fantastic free kick from Anaitz Arbilla got the hosts back in it before substitute Charles smashed home an equaliser after Takashi Inui’s shot had been saved.

The home side could have won the game late on but Sergi Enrich was denied by Raul Hernandez.

Elsewhere on Sunday there was three more games with Real Sociedad winning 2-1 at Getafe in the early kick off, Girona coming from behind to stun champions Real Madrid 2-1 and Malaga picking up their first win of the season with a victory at home to Celta Vigo by the same scoreline.
