Barcelona midfielders Andre Gomes and Sergi Roberto sustained injuries during Tuesday’s 0-0 draw at Olympiakos and are expected to miss over a month.
The 25-year old Spaniard, who has featured more regularly this season, most often at right-back is set to miss five weeks after a torn hamstring strain during the draw which saw him hobble off at the interval.
Gomes is expected to be sidelined for around three to four weeks with a hamstring injury after coming on against Olympiakos in the final 15 minutes.
The Portuguese international has featured 11 times this season, although seven of those have been as a substitute.
A statement on Barca’s official website explained both had sustained injuries and will undergo further tests on Wednesday to determine the full extent and length of time unavailable.
Ernesto Valverde’s injury list continues to grow as Andres Iniesta, Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan continue to remain unavailable whilst Ousmane Dembele and Rafinha remain long-term absentees.
Both players are set to miss league games against Sevilla and Leganes plus a crucial trip to Italy to face Juventus after Tuesday’s blank means Barca will need a point in Turin to guarantee top spot in Group D.
Barca are unbeaten in all competitions so far, this season and top La Liga with 28 points from 10 games while leading Champions League Group H with 10 points.
