La Liga’s three Europa League representatives all picked up crucial wins in their matchday four ties tonight, take a look at our roundup.
Villarreal remain top of Group A after a 2-0 win away to Slavia Prague.
The Yellow Submarine made the perfect start, opening the scoring within the first 15 minutes through Carlos Bacca. Some great build up play involving Pablo Fornals and Mario Gaspar got the visitors into the box with the goalkeeper parrying Gaspar’s cross straight to Bacca who hammered the ball into the roof of the net.
Despite some good pressure and missed chances they couldn’t add to their lead until the 89th minute when Simon Deli turned Denis Cheryshev’s cross into his own net.
The next round of games is in three weeks time when Villarreal will travel to Kazakhstan to face Astana in the early kick off. Slavia will face Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.
In the later set of games both Basque clubs picked up important wins in their respective games.
Real Sociedad were comfortable victors against Macedonians Vardar Skopje at the Anoeta with a 3-0 scoreline.
Juanmi opened the scoring on 31 minutes, rising highest from a corner to head home via the post.

The other game in the group saw a share of the spoils as Rosenborg and Zenit St Petersburg drew 1-1 in Norway.
La Real travel to Norway on matchday five while Zenit will host Vardar.
A close range header was enough to gain Athletic Bilbao a hard fought and much needed three points with victory against Oestersunds at the San Mames.
Athletic were held to a 2-2 draw in Sweden and knew they needed the win tonight if they had any hope remaining of qualifying for the knockout stages.
