Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno returns to Spain squadNovember 3, 2017
Spain have recalled Alberto Moreno to their squad for the upcoming friendlies against Costa Rica and Russia this month.
Having qualified for the World Cup next summer in Russia, Julen Lopetegui’s side will now prepare with friendlies and the head coach has handed recalls to Moreno, Vitolo, Luis Alberto and Suso.
Liverpool defender Moreno has already won three caps for his county but it’s the first time since being an Anfield player that he joins up with the Spanish setup.
Alberto, who used to play for Liverpool, before moving to Lazio, has yet to win his first international cap and will be hoping to do so this month.
Vitolo, who has missed out recently due to injury and poor form, returns after featuring for Las Palmas this season.
Whilst, Suso, who currently plays for Milan – earns his first senior call up.
David Villa doesn’t see a return, whilst Diego Costa is unavailable, having not been able to play for new side Atletico Madrid due to their transfer ban.
Valencia’s in-form striker Rodrigo remains in the squad, as does Iago Aspas, who has been playing well for Celta Vigo.
