Leganes will make a January move for Valencia’s Fabian Orellana, according to reports.
Diario AS reports the newly promoted La Liga side are ready to make a fresh deal in the upcoming transfer window, picking up on a failed deal over the summer.
The proposed deal comes after La Liga blocked a move for the winger to join Eibar as an emergency transfer replacement for injured Fran Rico.
Midfielder Rico underwent surgery on the 29th of September to address the “significant chondropathy” on his right knee and is out of action for a long period of time.
However, the league deemed that the injury did not meet the criteria of a serious long term injury meaning that the Basques cancelled any plans to make a move.
Orellana was at Celta Vigo before leaving for Valencia after then Celta manager Eduardo Berizzo accused the Chilean of showing an “unacceptable lack of respect” towards him before telling him he would not play for the Galicians again while he was in charge.
He moved to the Mestalla originally on a loan deal before making the move permanent before he hasn’t featured for Marcelino’s side at all in the league this season, his only appearance coming against Zaragoza in the Copa del Rey, and he is now being allowed to leave.
As well as Eibar and Leganes, old club Celta and Las Palmas are rumoured to be interested in the midfielder.
