Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has put his Premier League admirers on alert by stating his love for the English game.
Having arrived at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in 2015 for a deal worth £7m from Premier League side Stoke City, N’Zonzi has become one of European football’s most consistent players, gaining interest from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus.
The latter were extremely keen to pursue a summer move for the French international, but found his release clause a sticking point.
Having held discussions over the summer months, the Andalusian side were unwilling to move away from the set fee of €40million, a figure that was installed in his contract upon signing from Stoke and the midfielder stayed at the club.
Talk has never gone away though and his continued form for the La Liga side keeps attention from a number of sides interested.
A whole host of Premier League sides have now been linked, including Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
And, the French international has now teased a potential return to England with his latest comments.
“I love the Premier League,” The Daily Mirror quote N’Zonzi as saying. “I really like the Premier League, this is where I started at a good level. I had a great time there.
“I don’t know what is going to happen in the future. I am fine at Sevilla, I feel good. I am used to it now. It is my third season so I am happy.”
Sevilla entered the international break having lost 2-1 to Barcelona at the Camp Nou and they now prepare for the visit of Juan Carlos Unzue’s Celta Vigo.
