Pau Lopez has confirmed that English side Tottenham Hotspur are discussing the possibility of extending his loan spell at the club.
The 22-year-old keeper spent last season on loan with Mauricio Pochettino’s side but failed to make a single appearance, playing under study to number one Hugo Lloris.
However, Pochettino, who coached Espanyol prior to his reign at White Hart Lane; is keen to keep him at the club.
Lopez, who is currently in the Catalan capital has spoke about such talk, telling Spanish radio station Onda Cero: “We’ll see what happens, the clubs are talking and I can’t say anything.
“Espanyol is my home. It’s the club that I love, that I’ll always have in my heart, and whatever happens, I’ll be happy.
“At the end of the day, it’s my home, where people like me and appreciate me, and it will always be my home.”
Lopez’s return to White Hart Lane could see the departure of Dutch keeper Michel Vorm, who has made just nine appearances at the club since arriving from Swansea City.
