Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has spoken about claims that Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar could move to the club.
Cast your mind back to the summer and those sensational talks of Neymar leaving Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain began and materialised.
The Brazil international was seemingly happy with life in the Catalan capital but a mega-money move and the chance to lead the line and move away from the ‘shadow’ of Lionel Messi was too appealing.
However, reports in French and Spanish press have since claimed that life is not all too good for the forward in Paris, claiming fall-outs with Edinson Cavani and coach Unai Emery have seen him miss La Liga.
A visit back to Catalonia last week saw him pictured with Messi and the Barca team, but a move back to the Camp Nou is extremely unlikely – given the nature he left, which included a training ground dust up with new signing Nelson Semedo.
That has opened up another possibility with reports coming in from Spain that Real Madrid are considering a move.
And, Madrid midfielder Casemiro has welcomed the claims.
“He’s a superstar and knows exactly how to handle his career,” Casemiro told Cadena COPE. “Neymar is a great player and of course I would welcome him at Real Madrid, I hope he does join us, but my knowledge is he is happy in Paris.”
Florentino Perez has seen his bigger stars at the Santiago Bernabeu fail this season and question marks have begun over the future of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and even, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has scored just once in the league this season.
Reports in Spain and France claim Neymar’s father has met with Perez to discuss various things, in particular the role and potential of a move for his son.
Whilst Neymar is fully committed to PSG this season – many feel he was similarly committed to Barcelona, given his relationship with Leo Messi and Luis Suarez.
