Deportivo La Coruna have announced a new partnership with sustainable fashion company, Ecoalf.
The deal was announced during a presentation that was held in the port area of A Coruna with the club and the fashion chain announcing that Deportivo players will wear some of the companies clothing whilst travelling with and representing the club.
Ecoalf specialise in creating clothes using recycled materials and the event was largely focused on how much plastic is currently in the world’s seas and oceans and Depor have got on board to do their bit to help raise awareness of the importance of recycling and if current levels continue it is possible that by 2050 there will be more waste in the ocean that fish.
Several Deportivo stars were on hand to launch the campaign by modelling some of the new sportswear that will also be available for the clubs fans to purchase. Deportivo’s President, Ecoalf’s President and the President of the Port Authority were also there to announce the new arrangement which will also see A Coruna and several other Galician ports join with local fisherman to try to gather around 300 tonnes of plastic from the local area.
It is thought Ecoalf will look to increase their brand in the world of football and Deportivo and the city of A Coruna could be the first of many teams to get on board their campaign against climate change.
