Zidane eyeing massive shake-up at Real MadridNovember 21, 2017
With Real known to make hasty decisions with managers, Zinedine Zidane will have to make the necessary changes to ensure the club challenges on all fronts. To make matters worse for the Los Blancos they currently sit second in Europe too after losing to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley last month.
Reports suggest Zidane wants a massive clear-out with Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Marcos Llorente, Achraf and Vallejo all set to be shown the exit door.
Record signing Bale has struggled with injury for the past 18 months and has not played since September. Many fans are growing frustrated with his fitness issues. Despite missing a chunk of fixtures, the Welshman remains level with Benzema on two goals this season.
The Frenchman is intent on building a new side, despite winning the Champions League twice in the last two seasons. Real have been linked with moves for Harry Kane, Delle Alli and Eden Hazard in recent times.
Saturday night’s Madrid derby draw have called further scrutiny on Zidane’s tenure at the Los Blancos with cracks starting to appear at the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo’s form in front of goal the reason?
Cristiano Ronaldo, the man that has carried the burden of the high expectations from the Madrid crowd has had a dreadful start in La Liga this season. The four-time Ballon D’or winner has only scored once this season despite taking 55 attempts on goal. That has led to a conversion rate of 1.82%; the worst in all top five divisions.
The Portuguese international however has six goals in four games in the Champions League as his side travel to Greece to face Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday evening.
