Getafe striker Angel Rodriguez has heaped praise on boss Jose Bordalas for his approach this season and his impact at the club.
Bordalas took over as coach of the small Madrid based side in September 2016 after guiding Alaves to La Liga.
His arrival saw them promoted to La Liga, having finished third in the Segunda division and results this season have been impressive with the latest coming as they beat Alaves 4-1 at the weekend.
Angel Rodriguez, who bagged an impressive brace to gain revenge for his coach over his former employers, has spoken to press about his manager and the role he is playing in his current form.
“For me Bordalas has been vital, I signed for Getafe thanks to him, he trusts me and said I would have a leading role for the club in the first division, ” he told reporters.
The former Real Zaragoza striker has scored six goals in opening eight games since arriving at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but his chances in the starting eleven have come off the back of an injury to Gaku Shibasaki.
Approaching the game at the weekend, away to Espanyol; Rodriguez said he and his players were not getting carried away by their form.
“We have to take each match by each match. To date, we have done it this way, we play each game as it is our last,” he concluded.
Getafe sit 10th in the league standings, four places ahead of weekend opposition Espanyol and a win could push them to as high as 7th place.
