Eibar agree €400k deal for Fabian Orellana

Various reports have claimed that Eibar have agreed a €400k deal to sign Valencia midfielder Fabian Orellana.

The Chilean international reportedly has been told by Los Che officials that he has not future at the club after making just appearance on the substitutes bench this season.

The proposed deal comes as a surprise after reports had claimed that La Liga blocked a move for the winger to join Eibar as an emergency transfer replacement for injured Fran Rico.

Midfielder Rico underwent surgery on the 29th of September to address the “significant chondropathy” on his right knee and is out of action for a long period of time.

However, the league deemed that the injury did not meet the criteria of a serious long term injury; then meaning that the Basques cancelled any plans to make a move.

This now seems to have changed with a move said to have been agreed and ready for completion on January 1st when the transfer window re-opens.

Orellana was at Celta Vigo before leaving for Valencia after then Celta manager Eduardo Berizzo accused the Chilean of showing an “unacceptable lack of respect” towards him before telling him he would not play for the Galicians again while he was in charge.

He moved to the Mestalla originally on a loan deal before making the move permanent.

As well as Eibar –  Leganes, old club Celta and Las Palmas are rumoured to have been interested in the midfielder.
