Real Madrid will go all out to sign Athletic Bilbao keeper Kepa in the January transfer window, according to various Spanish reports.
Long have Madrid been keen admirers of the young Basque stopper and it now seems that the Bernabeu club will look to make a move for one in the January transfer window, with a fee of €20m discussed.
Whilst current number one Keylor Navas has been performing well; Madrid officials have been interested in a number of options who they feel can provide a long-term option.
Man United’s David De Gea was red hot favourite to become the long term replacement for Iker Casillas, who left the club two summers back for Porto, but Spain’s number one is now seemingly a long shot with his future at the English club firmly rooted, leaving Kepa as the next option.
Marca report on Thursday morning that Los Blancos will now go all out to sign Kepa in January, taking advantage of the fact that his contract expires next summer and Athletic Bilbao would rather accept a fee than seeing him leave on a free transfer.
A move is now expected to happen and should see the youngster move straight into the starting eleven at the Santiago Bernabeu, leaving Navas’ future in doubt.
