An interesting encounter is promised at the Wanda this weekend as Atletico Madrid host Real Sociedad.
It seemed Atleti were on the road to nowhere when they visited Levante last weekend. Star man Griezmann looked disgruntled in a team that was begging, nearly waiting, for the return of Diego Costa. As they seem to do, a 5-0 drubbing of Levante with Griezmann ending his drought has put a different complexion on things and Simeone will look at this against La Real as chance to see how much progress they really made last week.
It was all going so well for Real Sociedad, making one of their best starts to a league campagin since they had won the title in the 1980s. The Basques even topped the table shortly. Sadly, Sociedad season has pittered out. A dip form after defeat to Real Madrid saw the La Real slip to seventh. An embrassing cup exit to Lledia this week has further dampened moods coming into this fixture.
Despite this, Sociedad remain with a chance in causing a shock and they wont be short of motivation, with 6 sides below La Real with the chance of overtaking the visitors if Atleti take 3 points.
If Sociedad are to get a win they will need Oyarzabal firing, the youngster has been Sociedad far and away best player this season. Atleti will be hoping that Griezmann has found his midas touch again and help his side to victory this season.
Adan Januzaj and Aggirexte are both injuried for the visitors while Juanfran is out for Atletico.
Kick off Saturday at 15:15
