Good Morning and welcome to our brief round up of the Monday morning Spanish papers, which feature Zinedine Zidane and his problems at Real Madrid, an interview with Barcelona striker Luis Suarez and the race to get Javier Mascherano fit.
Spanish daily AS start the morning off with focus on Zidane after the 0-0 draw with Athletic Bilbao on Saturday evening.
Both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo both hit the upright as Zidane’s side failed to get past a resilient Basque defence.
Madrid needed three points to put pressure on the top three, especially after seeing league leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona drew with Celta Vigo 2-2 earlier in the day.
However, frustrations continues to show as they came away with just a point and failed to score.
The visitors finished with ten-men after Sergio Ramos was dismissed for two yellow cards, whilst Dani Carvajal and Casemiro both picked up yellow cards which see them ruled out of next weekend’s clash with Sevilla.
And, AS claim that the French tactician is running out of ideas and does not trust his defence, calling for new arrivals in the January transfer window.
Luis Suarez has given an exclusive interview with Madrid based media Marca and discussed several pressing matters, including the sale of Neymar over the summer and Real Madrid’s lack of form.
They also look at Atletico Madrid’s Champions League clash with Chelsea, where Diego Simeone’s side need a win and a miracle to progress.
Over in Catalonia, Mundo Deportivo are calling on Barcelona’s wish for Javier Mascherano to stay on that the club, whilst they look at the possible signing of Colombian defender Yerry Mina.
Before, they look at the weekend’s results, which saw Valencia miss out on moving to within a point of Barcelona.
