David Junca out for up to two weeksDecember 4, 2017
Eibar have been dealt a minor injury blow as left back David Junca has been ruled out for around two weeks.
The defender picked up a slight muscle injury in his femoral biceps, a part of the thigh at the back near to the hamstring, during Sunday night’s clash with Espanyol at the Ipurua.
He was replaced after six minutes of the second half, after pulling up with the injury, by Jose Angel, who is expected to take his place for the next two games against Getafe and Valencia.
Los Armeros are very hopeful that the Catalan left back will be back to face Girona on the 21st of January, the last game before the brief international break.
The game itself was a success for the Basques as goals from Kike Garcia, Ivan Alejo and Joan Jordan saw them defeat Espanyol 3-1.
They took the lead after just nine minutes when Kike knocked home the rebound from Anaitz Arbilla’s free kick which Pau Lopez had pushed onto the bar.
A wonderful strike from Alejo made it 2-0 before half time with Jordan slotting home from the penalty spot on 69 minutes to amke it three.
Sergi Enrich nodded into his own net to give Espanyol a consolation goal but Eibar claimed all three points and their third win in a row.
