Good Morning and welcome to our round up of the Spanish Papers for Tuesday, which feature Javier Mascherano’s future at Barcelona.
The Argentine defender is said to be leaving the Catalan club in January after dropping to the bench this season.
Excellent form from French defender Samuel Umtiti has seen Mascherano’s place alongside Gerard Pique diminish and with his contract due to expiry next summer; the former Liverpool man is looking for a cheap exit in the winter months.
Barca, however, are keen to keep him at the club after an injury to Umtiti, which will keep him out of action until the end of January.
Sport discuss Mascherano’s future, whilst Mundo Deportivo also look into the situation, claiming the defender has already made his mind up and is determined to leave.
Colombian defender Yerry Mina is a potential new arrival for Barcelona and would provide adequate back-up for both Pique and Umtiti.
Finally, both Catalan media based papers claim Florentino Perez is looking at changing a number of faces at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
Marca look away from football on their cover but do discuss Atletico Madrid’s game against Chelsea on Tuesday evening, where they need three points and Qarabag to draw with Roma to progress.
Finally, they claim Man City have re-emerged with an offer for Lionel Messi.
