Good Morning and Welcome to our brief round up of the Spanish Papers, which look at Real Madrid’s participation in the Club World Cup and Barcelona shortlist of potential signings in January.
It is fair to say that Barca had a largely miserable summer transfer window, losing Neymar to Paris Saint Germain and having to replace him at the last minute with Ousmane Dembele.
With January fast approaching, however, it seems the Catalan club are looking to bolster their options and remove some dead wood.
The likes of Arda Turan, Javier Mascherano and Andre Gomez are all expected to leave the club, whilst Gerard Deulofeu, who returned to the Camp Nou in June, is also expected to leave on a loan deal.
Coming in to the Camp Nou, well Sport have labelled a few players, which obviously include Philippe Coutinho of Liverpool.
Long has the Brazilian been linked with a move to Barcelona, but a transfer fee up to this point has proved a sticking point.
Mesut Ozil, who has chosen not to renew his contract with Arsenal is a potential option, whilst Arthur is also on the shortlist.
Moving away from the league leaders shopping list then and Marca focus on Real Madrid’s Club World Cup campaign, where they face Al Jazira in the semi-final.
Brazilian side Gremio await Zinedine Zidane’s men, should they progress, with that potential final coming on 16th December in Abu Dhabi.
Of course there is the added bonus of equalling Barcelona three-title haul in the competition with Los Blancos currently sitting on two titles.
Following the tournament of course, Madrid prepare for that mouth watering tie with Barca on the 23rd December.
We will have all the action from that game, plus Madrid’s semi-final with Al Jazira tonight on our website and official social media channels.
