Barcelona are way ahead of Manchester United in their interest of Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, according to reports.
The summer months saw the Frenchman linked with a move from the Wanda Metropolitano as Diego Costa’s return to the club was finalised, allowing interest from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea to be heard in English and Spanish media.
La Liga duo Barcelona and Real Madrid were also said to be interested and that has continued into the current season, despite a poor run of form.
Griezmann who bounced back into the goals following his worst form in an Atleti shirt, is now centre to more interest from the leading two clubs, said to be already mentioned Barca and Man United.
United have been linked heavily in English press, but a report in the Independent claims the Frenchman has his heart set on playing alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez next season at the Camp Nou.
Barca would seemingly be keen and have identified Griezmann as an option for next season, looking closely at his relatively cheap £100m release clause.
His potential exit from Atletico Madrid could see them make up funds after they were eliminated from the Champions League.
