Good Morning and welcome to our round-up of the Spanish Papers, where Marca are revelling in the return of Gareth Bale.
We open with Marca, who are keen to look at the return of Bale after his goal against Al Jazira in the Club World Cup semi-final.
Let’s not get to carried away though as this season has proved one thing; and that is that Bale’s consistent fitness has been a problem; therefore a couple of appearances in Abu Dhabi is nothing to get carried away with.
Marca also speak to Gremio over the CWC final against Madrid and pick up on the future of Arthur, who has been linked with Barcelona, claiming no contact has been made between the Catalan club and the midfielder’s representatives.
Diego Maradona is featured on the cover of AS, speaking on a number of issues, including the use and criticism of the VAR system in that Madrid v Al Jazira game.
He also says that if he was still playing; he would have won more Ballon d’or’s than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, before saying he told Florentino Perez to sign Paris Saint Germain forward KKylian Mbappe.
Moving over to Catalonia, there is optimism in Barcelona’s chase for Philippe Coutinho, saying that a price has been set and that Barca chiefs know what they need to do to make the move possible.
