Sevilla and Levante played out a 0-0 draw at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Friday evening.
Heading into Friday night’s game in Seville, Eduardo Berizzo’s side were hoping to bounce back after a rather dismal and poor 5-0 thumping at the hands of Real Madrid last weekend.
Levante, who started the season fairly well have since dropped off the pace and found themselves hovering over the relegation places, but a good performance saw them earn a respectable point.
Whilst the home side failed to really test Levante keeper Oier; it was the visitors who had the better first half chances.
Jose Luis Morales was a constant threat down the left hand start and he tested Sergio Rico, who made a smart stop.
The game ended 0-0 at the interval, which brought a few whistles from the home crowd and they had nothing to cheer about in the second half as the home side did not get any better.
Wissam Ben Yedder had very few opportunities to test Oier, whilst Ever Banega was struggling to create.
Winger Jesus Navas was hauled on by Berizzo towards the end of the game but the former Manchester City man failed to make an impact.
The draw sees Sevilla maintain their impressive run at home in 2017, having not lost, winning 17 and drawing on nine occasions.
The point sees them move up to fifth in the La Liga standings, whilst Levante move up to 15th but could drop back down as low as 17th if the teams below them secure three points.
