Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has challenged his players to go on and win more trophies after winning back to back Club World Cup’s.

Having guided his side to a second successive CWC triumph on Saturday, the French boss is keen to win more with Los Blancos.

Beating Al Jazira in the semi-final 2-1, Madrid skipped their league game with Leganes to take part in the competition.

A goal from Cristiano Ronaldo was enough to give Madrid the win over Brazilian side Gremio, handing Zidane another trophy as head coach of his former playing club.

‘It is a great moment for all Madridistas and everyone who loves this club. There have been some great brilliant moments and we are witnessing them first hand,’ Zidane told a press conference.

‘We have to enjoy today, the balance is good and we must continue in this manner. We are going home to relax, and then turn our attentions to El Clasico.

‘We have won our fifth (trophy) this year and we will keep on. Now we must enjoy, rest up and think about the rest of the season.’

Madrid now prepare to face bitter rivals Barcelona on Saturday at Santiago Bernabeu.

The reigning La Liga champions are currently 11 pints behind Barca, who lead the league standings.

Barca, who have played one game more – beat Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday evening at Camp Nou thanks to goals from Luis Suarez (2) and Paulinho (2).

Having struggled to gain consistency this season in the league, Madrid head into the game knowing three points is a must if they are to catch the Catalan side.
