Flamengo star Vinicius has spoken about his pending arrival at Real Madrid but said he does not know a date for the move.
The talented teen is expected to join the reigning La Liga, European and World champions next summer but he has spoken about his desire to help his current club win the Copa Libertadores.
“My plan is to stay here until the end of 2018,” Vinicius told reporters, as quoted by Diario AS.
“I want to win the Copa Libertadores here and then it will be time for me to move on to another club.
“There has not been any decision made yet and I won’t begin to properly consider my future until the New Year, as I’ve only just started my holiday.”
The 17-year-old forward agreed terms with Madrid on a €45m move in May, which was said to be effective on his 18th birthday, which is 12 July.
However, it remains unsure when the move will take place with his latest comments and no real movement from the Spanish side.
The young Brazilian debuted for Flamengo in May, instantly signing a contract which featured a release clause, which Madrid then utilised and activated.
His first professional goal came in the Copa Sudamericana in August, after making an appearance for the Brazilian U17 side in the South American Championship, where he scored seven goals and was named the best player of the tournament.
The youngsters arrival could offer Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane a fresh approach in attack, after seeing the likes of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo struggle to reach their impeccable heights in the league this season.
