Las Palmas aim to climb off the bottom as they travel to face GetafeDecember 20, 2017
Las Palmas will look to gain confidence from Sunday’s comeback 2-2 draw with Espanyol when they take on midtable Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Tuesday night.
The Yellows scored two goals in the last ten minutes as well as missing a 95th minute penalty on Sunday against Espanyol and will move off the bottom of the table with a draw tonight.
Getafe on the other hand are in a much better position in the league sitting 11th just one point outside the top half. The newly promoted side have produced some good performances, including being the first team to beat Valencia, but Sunday’s defeat at Girona saw them drop out of the top 10.
The two sides last met two seasons ago in the top flight with both games going the way of the home side. Incidentally, both matches also finished 4-0 with the away side finishing the game a man down.
Getafe midfielder Mauro Arambarri picked up his fifth yellow card of the season at Girona at the weekend and will have an early Christmas break as he sits out the Las Palmas clash. Markel Bergara and Chuli remain out through injury.
The visitors will be without Mauricio Lemos after he also picked up his fifth booking of the season with the defender joining Vitolo and Alen Halilovic on the sidelines but interim boss Paquito Ortiz has no new injury worries.
