Brazil and Paris Saint Germain winger Lucas Moura has seen a lot of interest headed his way in the last week. Most recently, this interest has come from Spanish side Real Betis. According to Le Parisien, Lucas Moura rejected Real Betis however.
Real Betis sent an enquiry to the Paris based club for a loan with an option-to-buy deal for their number seven. The former Sao Paulo winger apparently has no interest in leaving the French capital however. His current stance is that he would prefer to fight for his place and take in a massive wage in the process.
With Neymar arriving in a world record transfer, competition was going to stiffen up for Lucas. To make things even more difficult, Golden Boy winner Kylian Mbappe arrived shortly after. Angel Di Maria and Julian Draxler have seen their time on the pitch suffer as a result also.
Contributing to his reluctance in leaving Paris, his wife recently gave birth to his son and they are settled in Paris. A move in the summer is likely for the 25 year old, having made only six appearances this season. 24 minutes is the longest time he has been on the pitch in those six appearances. All of which have come from the bench and with the World Cup coming up, he will be under pressure to make the squad. A move in January would help his cause in getting on the plane to Russia.
Lucas Moura rejected Real Betis and is expected to do the same to other potential moves. A number of other La Liga clubs have expressed interest in the Brazilian lately. His exploits for PSG in previous seasons would encourage such interest. Last season Lucas scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists. The year before, he managed 13 goals and another five assists. Whatever team manages to prise him away from Paris will certainly be getting a valuable asset.
