Barcelona will move forward with their decision to bid for Angel Di Maria in the January transfer window, according to various reports in Spain.
The Argentine winger has struggled for playing time this season at Paris Saint Germain, largely down to the arrival of former Barca man Neymar and youngster Kylian Mbappe.
Starting just ten league games under Unai Emery, Di Maria is said to be keen on a move back to Spanish football with Barca.
A summer move was expected with Di Maria asking the Catalan side for a regular starting place, but Ernesto Valverde’s decision to sign Ousmane Dembele instead halted the move.
Diario Sport suggest however, that a move is now back on the cards, claiming Barca are willing to pay €45m up front with a further €15min bonus payments.
Di Maria, who formerly played for Barca’s biggest rivals – Real Madrid, spent time with Manchester United in 2014, before moving to the Parc des Princes, where he has netted 18 goals in just over 70 appearances.
The Parisiens are expected to be open to the move after being told by UEFA that they must sell in order to meet Financial Fair Play rules.
Barca, meanwhile, are looking at selling a number of fringe players, with Andre Gomes and Arda Turan already being linked with a January exit.
