Stoke City contacted as Las Palmas want Jese back

Premier League side Stoke City have been contacted by Las Palmas, who want to cancel the loan deal of Jese Rodriguez.

The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season with the Gran Canarian club on a loan deal from Paris Saint Germain, whom he joined from Real Madrid.

After returning back to PSG over the summer, he was once again deemed surplus to requirements and sent out on loan to Stoke.

However, the former Spanish international has scored once and featured just nine times for the Potters, whom Las Palmas are now hoping will cut short his loan spell.

“I have told the president to do everything in his power to bring him back,” boss Paco Jemez told Cadena Ser, as cited by El Mundo Deportivo.

“I have no doubts about Jese and I would take him here tomorrow, but he must come to the club as a motivated player and aware of his situation.

“I want Jese to be in the first in at training, to be an example and to lead others, he must show his maturity to help him develop.

“He has been moving clubs frequently and needs a home, and I believe if he comes back here we will find his best form.”

Meanwhile, Jemez has made Loic Remy available for transfer, according to various reports.

The French international could be set for a return to the Premier League after Jemez decided to sell the striker in one of his first decisions at the club.

Former Rayo Vallecano boss Jemez, who recently returned to the club he coached in 2010, told a press conference on Thursday afternoon that he would be asking the board to find a suitable club for the former Chelsea man and team-mate Oussama Tanane.

The decision comes after both players arrived late for training on Wednesday and failed to turn up on Thursday morning.

Remy, who is now expected to receive interest from England, enjoyed success with Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United, before moving to Stamford Bridge.

Injury problems saw him struggle at Crystal Palace last season, before he chose to take the offer and move to the Canary Islands.
