Manchester United are ready to complete a deal for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, according to reports.
With the pending return of Ousmane Dembele from injury and the potential arrivals of Angel Di Maria and Philippe Coutinho to the Camp Nou, boss Ernesto Valverde has begun making a number of fringe players available for transfer.
Arda Turan, who has not featured once this season for the Catalan giants is up on the market and has plenty of interest from a number of Turkish and Premier League clubs, whilst the likes of Rafinha and Denis Suarez are also receiving offers from elsewhere.
Gomes, who is also on that list, has struggled to adapt to life in the Catalan capital and looks set for a move to the Premier League with United.
United boss Jose Mourinho has made attempts previously to sign the 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder when he was at Valencia last season but it now seems he has got his man in a cut price deal.
A reported fee of £31m has been discussed in Spanish media, in a move that would see United’s midfield options further improve.
United are well stocked in the midfield area, but it is expected that players such as Marouane Fellaini will be sold by Mourinho.
