Alejandro Galvez has signed for Las Palmas from Eibar, becoming Paco Jemez’s second signing after Gabriel Peñalba.
Galvez becomes the sixth centre back at Las Palmas although Ximo Navarro is expected to be moved to right back to compete with the injured Michel Macedo and David Simon with the departure of one of those two not to be ruled out.
The defender wasn’t in José Luis Mendilibar’s plans at Eibar and played just 30 games with Las Palmas seen as a good option for him.
Galvez is the second signing made by new boss Jemez after midfielder Gabriel Peñalba joined from the managers former club Cruz Azul in Mexico.
The central midfielder was a request of Jemez who of course knew him from his old club with the player terminating his contract in Mexico to move to Gran Canaria.
However the midfielder may not be assigned in time for this week’s Copa del Rey clash with Valencia.
He is delighted with the move however saying, “I am looking forward to meeting the squad and training as soon as possible.”
The two signings are expected to be the first of a number of changes made with Paco Jemez’s arrival at the club.
