Paris Saint-Germain reject Grzegorz Krychowiak has emerged as a shock target for Getafe after injury to Markel Bergara has left Angel Leon’s side looking for an addition in midfield.
The Polish international is currently on loan at Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, but has not convinced either Tony Pulis or Alan Pardew to give him game time, having started only two of their last nine games.
That could open the door to a return to La Liga, according to MARCA, where he was previously a huge hit at Sevilla under Unai Emery.
However, any move will be difficult. First of all, they would have to convince West Brom and PSG that ending his loan spell in England would be a good move, which could be easier said than done given the lack of funds available to Pardew at The Hawthorns to find a replacement.
Even then, Getafe would not be able to cover his full wages of three million euros a year. They would offer a portion of that as part of the loan agreement, but even that kind of figure would be pushing them to their limits of their wage cap set by La Liga.
Getafe remain hopeful of coming to some kind of agreement, but it may remain an impossible dream unless there is a significant change of plan by West Brom, PSG and the player himself.
