Leicester City are looking at the possibility of signing Celta Vigo’s Jonny Castro, according to various reports.
Galician media have joined the Leicester Mercury in reporting that Castro could be set to receive an offer from the English Premier League side this month.
Normally a right back, Castro has made over 200 appearances for Celta and has become a key figure in Spain’s Under-21 side.
The move comes after current right back Danny Simpson received news on an injury problem, which will see him miss five weeks of football, prompting Claude Puel to make a move for the Spaniard.
Born in Vigo, Castro has a current deal until June 2019, but reports claim that he is keen to move away from the club, having received interest from Sevilla last summer.
Leicester, who won the Premier League two seasons back, have also been linked with Benfica defender Andre Almeida and Bournemouth’s Adam Smith.
Meanwhile, Celta boss Juan Carlos Unzue is looking to raid former club Barcelona as a loan move for Brazilian midfielder Rafinha is heavily discussed in Catalan media.
The youngster has recently returned from injury but due to Barca’s midfield options; is yet to see a return to first team action.
