Real Madrid will be without captain Sergio Ramos for their trip to Celta Vigo and the next two to three weeks after he suffered a calf injury.

Madrid are starting the second half of the season with a game against 11th place Celta Vigo and will be hoping that the second half of the season is better than what the first half was for Los Blancos. They head into the new year 14 points behind leaders Barcelona who they lost 3-0 to before the winter break.

Zinedine Zidane’s men head into this game following a 3-0 win over Numancia in the Copa del Rey on Thursday and they will be hoping for another victory when they face Celta on Sunday.

Hosts Celta Vigo come into this game following a 1-1 draw with Barcelona, They themselves will be looking into improving their league form in the second half of the year after finishing the first half of the season in 11th.

Looking back at this fixture Celta haven’t fared well with them losing their last six league games against Real Madrid conceding 23 goals in those matches.

Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo has the best goals per game ratio of the current sides in La Liga against Celta Vigo, and has scored 15 goals and one assist in the last 8 matches between the sides.
