Getafe are expected to make a move for Real Madrid keeper Kiko Casilla, according to reports.
With rumours spreading across the internet and in English media that current number one at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez – Vicente Guaita, could be about to leave for Premier League sides Watford and Crystal Palace, the Madrid based club are looking at Casilla.
The 31-year-old stopper has been a bit part player at the Bernabeu and played as an understudy to Keylor Navas, but with the pending arrival of Athletic Club keeper Kepa – it is now expected that he will leave this month.
The Spanish and European champions are keen to replace both Casilla and Navas, although the latter is expected to remain as the club’s number one for the remainder of the season.
Diario AS report on Monday morning that Casilla is now the number one target for Getafe, who do not believe that either Emiliano Martinez or Filip Manojlovic would be adequate replacements for Guaita.
Martinez arrived last summer from English side Arsenal expecting first team football, but the form of former Valencia man Guaita has been excellent and played a big part in Getafe’s good form this season.
Whilst no firm offer has been made for Guaita from Watford, reports in English media claim Palace have made a good offer.
