Real Sociedad have identified Javi Gracia as the man they want to replace Eusebio Sacristan, if the current manager’s results don’t improve, according to MARCA.
La Real have only won three of their last fifteen matches in La Liga and dropped points against sides around them in Girona, Getafe, Malaga, Las Palmas and Leganes.
These results have seen them slip from joint top to twelfth in the table, five places outside the European spots.
The shock defeat in the Copa del Rey at the hands of Segunda B side Lleida Esportiu also reduced the support and faith in the manager.
Chairmen Jokin Apperibay and Lorenzo Juarros have made it clear that if Sacristan can’t change their fortunes then he will be sacked.
They don’t want to sack a third coach as they did previously with Jagoba Arrasate and David Moyes but neither would be scared to do so to ensure the highest possible finish for the Basques as well as qualification to the next stage of the Europa League against Salzburg.
Javi Gracia is the chosen one with the former Malaga and Rubin Kazan manager currently without a club and La Real believe he would be the perfect candidate.
However there are also rumours that he may be heading to Espanyol, with Quique Sanchez Flores close to a move to Stoke City.
