Tasty clash on the cards as Atletico Madrid visit EibarJanuary 12, 2018
The third game on Saturday sees Eibar welcome Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid to the Ipurua in what should be a very entertaining match.
Atleti have climbed up to second in La Liga despite losing their first game of the season at Espanyol on matchday 17 and are of course favourites to beat Eibar but Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men are unbeaten in their last seven league games, winning six of those and currently sit in seventh place, just one point behind Villarreal.
The Ipurua is the smallest stadium in La Liga and a very tough place to visit so Atleti will have to be on their guard if they want to take the points back to Madrid.
Los Colchoneros won both meetings without conceding a goal in La Liga last season but this weekend’s match may not be as comfortable.
Eibar’s only injury worries are long term with no new worries and the same team that defeated Las Palmas 2-1 last weekend is expected to start.
For Atleti, they will be without the suspended Diego Costa but welcome back Saul Niguez.
