Valencia CF: has the sleeping giant awoken at last?

Sitting in third place, five points clear of last season’s Liga and Champions League winners Real Madrid, it is fair to say that Los Che are in a very promising position. However, it is easy to forget the fact that not long ago, the six-time Spanish Champions were teetering on the brink of relegation and the threat of a drop to the Segunda Division was looming over them like Peter Crouch in a room full of jockeys. This time last year Gary Neville was one month into his reign at Els Taronges,…

Two sides who have exceeded expectations this season, meet for the first time in La Liga at the Estadio de Mestalla as they attempt to maintain their bright starts into the New Year. The first half of the season couldn’t have gone any better for Valencia or Girona with both sides sat comfortably in the top half of the table as they look to push on. Valencia have started to stutter and seem to be losing touch at the top with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid with Marcelino’s men losing three…

Valencia will reportedly agree a new €100m release clause in a new contract for striker Simone Zaza. The 26-year-old arrived at Los Che in July and signed a deal until 2021, but his form and goal scoring exploits have seen him gain plentiful interest from a whole host of European sides. Zaza hopeful of making Barca clash

Valencia forward Simone Zaza hopes to be fit to face Barcelona in the top of the table clash at the Mestalla on Sunday night. High-flying Valencia to swoop for Everton striker Sandro Ramirez?

Valencia have joined a host of clubs including Sevilla to offer Sandro a route back to La Liga after a disastrous start to life in England. Having made just five appearances this season, the player has not been included in a matchday squad since Ronald Koeman departed the Toffees hotseat. The Spanish Under-21 international signed for Everton when they triggered the £5.1 million buyout clause in his Malaga contract. According…

Real Betis 3-6 Valencia: Game of the season!

The atmosphere at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday evening was electrifying and the football wasn’t bad either. The only time the crowd died down was during the minute’s silence before kick-off and immediately after Valencia scored. The game itself warranted such an atmosphere so infrequently found in Spain. In what we built up as potential game of the season in our match preview, it truly lived up to expectation. It was an engrossing game to watch – with nine different goalscorers and four substitutes also scoring. Real Betis started comfortably and…

Valencia 5-0 Malaga: Zaza takes home the match ball

Valencia smashed rock bottom Malaga 5-0 thanks to a superb hat-trick from Simone Zaza. Zaza bagged a seven-minute treble in the second half to ensure Los Che’s impressive start to the new La Liga season continued.
