La Liga president Javier Tebas has defeated Barcelona boss Josep Bartomeu for recognizing the club as part of the new European Super League along with his resignation.

The president of the Barcelona arson resigned on Tuesday night along with the entire club board with an impending motion of no-confidence.

However, Bartomeu claims to have confirmed the club’s participation in the European Super League before leaving.

The Catalan giants are one of several European clubs likely to be part of a new competition that threatens to replace the Champions League in the coming years and will affect the national division.

“Yesterday at the board meeting I approved the terms [for the club] to participate in the European Super League,” said Bartomeu.

“The European Club Super League will ensure the survival of the club and ensure that it continues to belong to the members.”

LaLiga boss Tebas met with Bartomeus Stiefel because he was not impressed by his announcement that the club would play in the European Super League “Phantom”.

“Poor Josep Bartomeu, who announced on his final day that he would take part in a ghost race that would bring destruction to Barcelona, ​​confirmed his ignorance of the football industry,” Tebas said on social media.

“This is a sad ending for a president who has been successful and recently made mistakes.”

It is expected that between 16 and 18 teams will compete in the European Super League competition. It is played in the middle of the week during the normal European club season.

Bartomeu was urged to step down from the Catalan hierarchy after several controversies over the summer, including a public relegation at Lionel Messi that almost led to the star’s departure from the club.
